Civic
Honors Book of the City of Bulawayo |
The Bulawayo City Council on the 3rd July, 1963, felt that it was desirable to afford civic recognition to people who had carried out distinguished public work in the interest of
the City over a long period of time and it accordingly resolved as follows:
"That, being appreciative of the fact that there are citizens who have rendered long and meritorious public work in the City or have brought distinction to it, the Council may, from time to time, by resolution duly passed cause the names of such persons to be recorded in the Book of Civic
Honours."
The Civic Honours Book is bound in blue leather with the City's Coat of Arms embossed on the cover in gold. The frontispiece of the book shows the City's Coat of Arms in heraldic colours and inscribed therein is the resolution of the Council passed on the 3rd July, 1963.
